national day in Shanghai

August 9 2010 - National Day. First time spending national day in a foreign country. We had our celebration dinner at home yesterday with Sherrie (Jen's friend). We brought food home from outside and Jean, Sherrie and I made cheesecake for everyone. A new flavour - Jello cheesecake!

Tat-dah!

August 7 2010 - Eve of national day's eve. We spent the whole day at the Expo. Went to the Singpaore Pavilion the every first thing we arrived at the expo garden. Passed Serene her stuff =) We got express entry into the Singapore Pavilion! Just need to show our SG passport to the guards. The whole Expo town is huge, super huge! Went to get our Expo passport and visited Brunei Pavilion after that. We were thinking of trying our luck at the China Pavilion hoping to get into their national pavilion but went to their province pavilions instead. There are 31 pavilions in the province section but we only managed to complete our visit to 21 of them. Among all visited, I love Tibet, Inner Mongolia and XinJiang most. Their culture is really unique and colourful. We had dinner at the Holland pavilion that evening. The portions of the food was minute. But the ambience was worth our evening there. My camera died on me even before dinner time so the Holland pics are all with my sis for now.

Singapore Pavilion - Music box which look a bit like durian.

Mini figurines at one of the province pavilions, I think there are at least a few thousands of them.

An additional photo which i think is quite nice and we wont get to see it when we are on land.

4.8.2010: On the plane to Shanghai before landing - Sunrise

Only managed to upload these photos after about an hour of waiting for it to upload. PS.
