The last installment of HK/Macau 2010 trip =)
On the third day, I took a coach back to Hong Kong alone while grandma extended her stay. My grandaunts and grandma see me off before they went to offer prayers to my great grandmother who passed away two years ago. I wanted to tag along badly.
The journey took about 3 hours and I headed to Ocean Park to meet my friends after depositing my luggage at the hotel lobby. Sometimes when we are alone facing difficulties, we will somehow be forced to think on our feet. That's how we learn isn't it? I think Ocean park is build on a hill or something cos when the bus went all the way up, my ears got stuck, you know its similar to how it's stuck when we take airplanes. Guess what I saw along the way?
Haha. And so, I entered from the mid entrance, there are two entrances, one at the bottom and the other at mid-mountain. There were some communication failures before I met my friends and so I thought I shouldn't waste my ticket. Explored and went to the sea lions enclosure first then the aquarium. The aquarium is similar to our underwater world just that I had never seen our underwater world jam-packed like this one before. I followed the crowd in and there were damn a lot of people inside, no crowd control at all. The creatures were gigantic. Either they were very well-fed or they are very old. I wanted to visit the jellyfish aquarium, so I followed the signage but it didn't lead me to the jellyfishes! Argh! Wasted!
I took 3 rides in total. The abyss(the one which brings you all the way up slowly and then drop you down at a very fast speed), the roller coaster with 3 x 360 degrees turns and the pirate ship. I felt as though I'm floating when the machine dropped us down. Not a good feeling though. I'm glad I didn't threw up after that, cos I didn't had lunch before that! Hah! I used to like roller coaster rides when I was much younger. I would keep my eyes open during the rides and enjoy the wind but this time round things are a bit different, eyes closed and shouted - not as bold as a few years ago. The pirate ship was fun!
We planned to go lama island for seafood at night but it was late already. We went to central and ate at a road side stall instead. Nice food and soup =) I like! Shopping at H&M following that.
We spent the whole of day 4 at Lantau island (大屿山). Saw the huge Buddha and had vegetarian food for lunch. We trekked to the Wisdom Path after lunch and took lots of photos there. It was near the Phoenix peak and the clouds are all around us. Felt like immortal for a second. Haha. We then went to Dai O, a fishing village which housed the famous white dolphins, at the other end of the island. We didn't see the dolphins though cos it was late at 6 plus, no more ships to bring us out. Had BBQ sotong and fish roe. The fish roe was damn nice. We waited for the roe till the storm moved in. Shopped at city gate outlet stores but the shopping experience was disappointing. Only got clothes for my bro and cousin.
Day 5 was more of R&R. We went to central in the morning to collect the ferry tickets. Gm came back to Hong Kong with grandaunt and she managed to find her way back to our hotel! She was very cute lor, when I opened my door and she saw me, she was like smiling and saying that she's very clever cos she recognize the way back to the hotel. Haha! Shopped at Mongkok with Wynne while the rest took a nap in the hotel. They went to Victoria harbour and Lam Kwai Fong while I went back to the craft shop to correct a mis-spelt name... Went back to hotel after that. We had shredded ice for supper that night. Damn nice!
Took a ferry to Macau on the sixth day. Gm was super happy. Our room at Grand Lisboa was huge with Hermes toiletries. Haha. Thanks Cheryl! We went to The Venetian that night. Gm tried her luck at grand lisboa but she didn't like it. She switched to Wynn =)
We spent the whole day of day 7 at 珠海 aka the tai tai day for us, girls. Shopping, massage, manicure and pedicure. Haha. Shiok & Fun! Only thing is my mani and pedi took 2 hours (-.-") I got myelf *blings* =D Had seafood dinner back in Macau at the street opposite Senado Square.
Hah! Our nails *loves*
Finally we got to eat the famous Portuguese egg tart and Pork cutlet bun on our last day in Macau. We were on our way to St. Paula ruin and spotted this egg tart shop. Stood there and had our breakfast. Haha. It was raining that day. Haiz. I don't like taking photos when we carry umbrellas cos the umbrella blocks every single thing behind you. Isn't it? & There's Naraya at Senado Square! Haha! Our ferry trip back to HK was like the pirate ship. The waves were choppy due to rough weather conditions. Some passengers vomited. The rest of the group went back to Singapore that night while I stayed at HK for one more night with grandma. My HK friend did last minute shopping with me =) Thanks HoYin!
We went to the market in the morning and grandma bought some dried shrimps back to make dumplings for dumpling festival. Had breakfast and went back to hotel to pack up. We checked-in about 3 hours in advance and our luggage was over weight but since the lady didn't mentioned anything, I kept quite too =) Smart. Reached Singapore in the evening at 7plus and that marks the end of my trip =(
Back to reality.
Happy fathers' day to my daddy and all fathers in the world!
We are going for dinner at Sizzlers later and I hope there won't be too many people queuing. Reservation was full when sis called them yesterday. I HOPE!
