#1 nail art is very damaging to your fingernails.
I know that many of us out there, girls i mean, do have a liking for pretty nails. Why do I say that nail art is hurtful to our real fingernails? A while ago, I was having my holidays in China, where I went to this nail salon to get my manicure done. At first everything was so pretty, all the glittery coating, 3D flowers and gemstones. I did an extension to my nails and as I do not have any experience with long nails, I find that the nails are so fake. I had to make sure that they do not break off and thus, it was very inconvenient considering that I still need to do household chores. Well, three weeks past and I'm quite used to the 'long' feeling by now. However, I decided to get the extension removed. After i tried to remove them, I realised that the layer of my real nails underneth the fake extension has became extra thin. It was as thin as two sheets of A4 paper when u put them together. I find it very scary lor. My conclusion was it must be those chemicals that have done that to my once healthy nails. So if you ever want to go for any nail extensions, do think twice. This was an experience that I think I would not forget for a very long time. So, do think twice before you want to go for nail extensions. The chemicals can really get the life out of your nails.
#2 Give others a chance to perform, this often takes time
Tiff and me went to the Swensens at TM for dinner today. We queued for almost 20 minutes and was finally showed to our seats. Ordered enough food for the two of us and await our food to be served. As our fries came first, we would like to ask for more mayonise. Today is the eve of a public holiday, naturally, there will be alot of people who dine out tonight. We were not surprised that Swensen's business was good. However, I really want to say something about the kind of service that we received. We tried to ask for more mayonnaise but there were very few waiters in sight. Ok, so we waited for one to pass-by and Tiff politely said 'excuse me', hoping to grab the attention of the waiter. But to our disappointment, we were ignored and the waiter went to another table to take orders. What is this? We did that for like a few times, but none would like to stop by and listen to our needs. We also complained about the air-con, as our seat was directly under it, we requested for a change of seat to somewhere warmer. But what we got from the lady was that 'actually huh, everywhere in here is the same', meaning to say that all tables has an air-conditioner above it. What is this? I was shivering throughout my dinner. What a gret dining experience. Food was finally served and tiff started eating her medium well sirloin steak while i dive into my spagetti aglio olio. As tiif ate her steak, it lloks more bloody than medium well cooked. So she asked the waiter if hers was really medium well. They took it back and recooked it for her. Whoa! The plate of food came back and it was served without a 'enjoy your food' from the waiter. Attitude sia. Best part is we asked for our dessert to be served. We waited for half and hour, no joke. I was beginning to fill up the feedback form and writing down my comments about what great service and quality of food that we experience there when a waiter came to ask us about our dessert. At this moment, he told us that it was his first day at work and was trying hard to adapt to the environment. Oh well, I decided not to submit the feedback form as i think my feedback form will really cause them to get a scolding or worse lose their jobs. I can see that there are also some good ones who really tried their best to serve us. Thanks to them, I felt better at the end of the dinner.
#3 There are lots more to improve on the quality of our service sector
Our service sector really need to learn from countries like japan and HongKong. Many once said that Hongkong's service was poor. What about our own country? We arn't better in anyway. From my trip, the kind of service i experience in HongKong was way better than what i get when i shop or dine in Singapore. I really had a fun time in HongKong as the people there are so polite and helpful. I think that if you want others to respect you, you will first have to respect them. Because it is when you give the best of yourself that you will get the best out of others. Don't you think that this is very true? We really need to do something about our attitude especially if we work in the sevice sector.
P.S. Happy Labour Day to all!
